My last Portfollio:
- No thumbnails with zoomed in cropped images. This confuses the viewer. You want to create a thumbnail that the viewer can understand in 10 seconds.
- Do not add overwhelming engaging functions. That can distract the viewer from viewing your piece.
- Do not add automatic music. This can be an immediate turn off for viewers looking for a visual experience or employers.
Response: I thought this article was very funny and informative. The author pointed out very common trends that a lot of people would assume to be the correct thing to do. I was able to agree with a lot of his opinions and learn to avoid simple mistakes. I now have a clear understanding to make the interface simply engaging but very easy to maneuver through out information.
9 Resume mistakes:
- Some of the main mistakes that stood out to me was "being vague".
- Getting to elaborate with style and form.
Response: Theses mistakes are mistakes that I feel like that I encounter now. Im still working on being more direct with adjectives to describe my work. Being vague is something that I do with out realizing. Another is mistake I struggle with is making the form to complex. To complex to where it may hinder the design concept.
Its a new brand world:
- You're branded, branded, branded, branded.
- The brand is a promise of the value you'll receive.
- And if you're really smart, you figure out how to distinguish yourself from all the other very smart people walking around with $1,500 suits, high-powered laptops, and well-polished resumes.
What makes you different?
- You're every bit as much a brand as Nike, Coke, Pepsi, or the Body Shop.
- ask yourself the same question the brand managers at Nike, Coke, Pepsi, or the Body Shop ask themselves.
- I like how the author broke down the different characteristics and gave advice on how to start branding yourself based on your trait.
- The key to any personal branding campaign is "word-of-mouth marketing.
- Figure out how to taylor yourself for whatever audience.
Whats the real power of you?
- It's influence power.
- Most important, remember that power is largely a matter of perception.
- If you want people to see you as a powerful brand, act like a credible leader
Whats real loyalty to you?
- Today loyalty is the only thing that matters.
Whats the future of you?
- You've got to be a great teammate and a supportive colleague.
- You've got to be an exceptional expert at something that has real value.
- You've got to be a broad-gauged visionary
- you've got to be a business person
Response: While reading this I gained a lot of motivation. This article was very informative and precise. This article basically outlines a road for success for upcoming artist. Teaching them how to brand their self market their self, and present their self to the employer. The section that stood out to me the most was the "what makes you different". This section builds confidence in the viewer pushing them to compete with big name companies.
