Project 3

Edgar Allan Poe

Tell - Tale Heart

  1. Honesty - Through the confession of his actions. Also through admitting his hatred for somebody and exact details on why.
  2. Repetition - The repetition of checking on the old man in the morning and in the night.
  3. Cleverness - The planned execution. Also the disposal of the body.

The Raven

  1. Romance - Expressed through the love of Lenore.
  2. Insanity - Speaking to an object that can not respond or comprehend what hes saying.
  3. Loneliness - towards the end he began to get lonely and sad. As if he was on the verge of a emotional breakdown.

The Black Cat


  1. Violence - Expressed through the brutal acts of killing performed.
  2. Animals- The rabbit, cat and dog. He owned many different animals but wasn't amused by playing with them or the affection the animal gave.
  3. The Black cat - The black cat is one of the things he killed. The black cat was also one of his close friends. The cat was also replaced with another cat that had white on the breast.
